With a degree in Product Design, Rhona considers herself a designer with an accelerative interest in design for social environments. Working within the Highlands and Islands landscape, her current work focusses on rural sheep farming and crofting in Scotland.
Rhona’s work considers show the application of participatory design and design research methods can generate and disseminate knowledge within an agricultural framework. Complementing an exploration of speculative and preferable futures with innovative practices, she aims to use her research approach to aid the realisation of and prognosis for future sustainable growth within local sheep farming and crofting communities.
